Responding to the rapidly growing demand from tourists, investors, and the rising frequency of charter flights, the expansion project of Phu Quoc International Airport officially began in Q2 2025, with full operations targeted for late 2026.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"697\"><strong data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"697\">Upgrading Aviation Infrastructure \u2013 Moving Toward International Standards<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"1232\">According to the approved master plan, Phu Quoc Airport will expand its current capacity from approximately 5 million passengers per year to <strong data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"873\">18 million passengers by 2027<\/strong>, with a long-term vision of <strong data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"944\">50 million passengers annually by 2050<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"948\" \/>The project includes the construction of an additional <strong data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1025\">3,300-meter runway<\/strong> alongside the existing 3,500-meter runway, and the expansion of the aircraft apron to <strong data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1136\">70\u201380 parking stands<\/strong>, enabling operations of wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 747, Boeing 787, and Airbus A350.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1614\">A new passenger terminal (T2) will also be built, inspired by the image of a <strong data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1322\">phoenix<\/strong>, designed by Singapore-based consultancy firm CPG.
