Apple CEO Tim Cook concluded his inaugural visit to Vietnam on 16 April 2024, one month after the visit of Former CEO of Microsoft Bill Gate by private jet Gulfstream G650ER, following a series of engagements with developers, content creators, and a meeting with government officials.

The private jet Gulfstream G650 carrying Cook and his Apple delegation departed from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport at approximately 2 p.m. on 16 April 2024. Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the significance of Apple’s expansion in the country, noting that it has created over 200,000 jobs. He expressed hope that Apple would assist in training high-quality personnel and consider Vietnam as a manufacturing hub, thereby facilitating participation in the global supply chain and market diversification.

Cook arrived in Vietnam on Monday, engaging with developers and content creators throughout his 36-hour stay. His activities included meetings with singer My Linh and her daughter My Anh, as well as discussions with tech influencer Ngo Duc Duy and rappers Viet Max and Suboi. He also visited the Antiantiart studio.

Additionally, Cook interacted with the developers of CollaNote and Elsa Speak and held discussions with Bryan Pelz, CEO of Bootloader Studio, regarding a project to support the Vision Pro.

On his second day in Vietnam, Cook visited Hanoi Star primary and secondary school, where he attended a class that utilized iPads.

Previously, Apple announced plans to increase its spending with suppliers in Vietnam and to develop community projects. The tech giant has invested approximately VND 400 trillion (roughly $15.8 million) in the local supply chain since 2019.
