American billionaire Bill Gates and his partner arrived in Da Nang, Vietnam on 4 March 2024 for leisure, following their attendance at a pre-wedding celebration for the son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s wealthiest billionaire, in India. Bill Gates and his partner landed at Da Nang International Airport (DAD) via their private Gulfstream G650ER aircraft.

Reportedly, Bill Gates is revisiting Vietnam after an 18-year hiatus, embarking on a personal excursion to Da Nang and Hoi An for approximately five days. Their accommodation is at a luxurious 5-star resort in Son Tra District, with plans to proceed to Hoi An on Tuesday.

During his previous brief visit to Vietnam in 2006, Bill Gates engaged with the country’s information technology sector. He explored Tu Son District in Bac Ninh province, experiencing local customs like chewing betel and being serenaded with quan ho, a traditional folk music genre.

Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft alongside Paul Allen in 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Over the years until 2014, he held various key roles within the company, including CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chief Software Architect.
