The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just submitted to the Ministry of Transport for approval the adjustment of the planning of Cam Ranh International Airport for the period 2021 — 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The planning of Cam Ranh International Airport for the period up to 2020, with a vision to 2030, was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1006/QD-TTg dated July 14, 2009. Since its approval, Cam Ranh Airport has been investing in the construction of basic construction items according to the planning.

With a vision to 2050, Terminal T2 will be renovated and Terminal T1 will be merged into a new Terminal T1 (international terminal) with a capacity of 24 million passengers/year. At the same time, a new Terminal T3 (domestic terminal) with a capacity of 12 million passengers/year will be built, ensuring that the forecast vision to 2050 will reach 36 million passengers/year.

Regarding the cargo terminal, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam proposed a land area of ​​12.1 hectares for the cargo terminal. “According to calculations, the land demand of the airport in the period of 2021-2030 and vision to 2050 is 628.41 hectares (excluding the military land in the southeast of the port); of which, the land area managed by civil aviation is 586.88 hectares, the land area managed by the military is 41.53 hectares,” said the Civil Aviation Authority.
