Phu Quoc is anticipated to enjoy a “booming” tourist season as the year concludes, bolstered by the introduction of numerous new international flights designed to accommodate the growing demand from global travelers eager to explore Vietnam’s Pearl Island. Phu Quoc has emerged as a favored destination for vacationers, particularly those opting for private jet flights with JetVina, a Vietnam Air Charter company.
Rising Demand for Phu Quoc Tourism
Phu Quoc Island is currently attracting visitors from over 150 countries and territories, facilitated by numerous direct flights from South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan (China), as well as charter flights from Greece, the UAE, Singapore, India, Russia, Japan, Eastern European nations, and Central Asia.
Tourism in Phu Quoc experiences significant growth during the year-end period, driven by increasing international tourist demand. It is anticipated that up to 20 airlines will operate flights to Phu Quoc, with more than 100 weekly flights from various countries and territories during the peak tourist season in late 2024 and early 2025. This represents a 25 percent increase compared to the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. The surge in popularity follows several international accolades received by Phu Quoc last summer, including recognition as “the second most beautiful island in the world” by readers of the esteemed travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
Among the markets with direct flights to Phu Quoc, South Korea stands out as the most dynamic. Three airlines—Korean Air, Jeju Air, and Jin Air—have established routes from Seoul to Phu Quoc, operational since late last year. Additionally, Eastar Jet has been offering four flights per week from Cheongju since July 2024.
Phu Quoc has consistently ranked as the top foreign destination for South Korean tourists over the past three months, prompting Korean Air to expand its services to accommodate this demand. Beginning December 15, 2024, the airline will increase its offerings to two pairs of direct flights daily from Seoul to the Pearl Island.
International visitors are captivated by Phu Quoc, renowned for its warm sunshine and pleasant climate, particularly during the year’s end. A notable addition to travel options is the newly established flight route from Hong Kong to Phu Quoc, operated by Hongkong Express, which offers one round-trip flight daily. This route connects tourists from one of Asia’s foremost financial hubs to the enchanting Pearl Island. Moreover, Phu Quoc has emerged as a premier destination for international travelers seeking winter getaways from colder climates.
Phu Quoc Island receives three pairs of flights per week from Poland, operated by Lot Polish Airlines; one pair of flights per week from Russia, operated by Iraero Airlines; three pairs of flights per week from Kazakhstan, operated by Air Astana; three pairs of flights per week from Kazakhstan, operated by Scat Airlines; two pairs of flights per week from Uzbekistan, operated by Uzbekistan Airways; and two pairs of flights per week from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, operated by World2Fly. There are also two pairs of flights per week from Mongolia to Phu Quoc, operated by MIAT Mongolian Airlines.
For the Southeast Asian markets, Phu Quoc is served by one daily flight from Malaysia, operated by AirAsia. Additionally, there are two daily flights from Thailand, operated by Thai Vietjet, and one daily flight from Thailand, also operated by AirAsia. Furthermore, Phu Quoc receives five weekly flights from Singapore, operated by Scoot Airlines.

The pristine environment is rare and difficult to replicate on the mainland, and many beaches in Phu Quoc are celebrated as some of the most beautiful in the world, characterized by fine white sand and crystal-clear emerald waters.
Notable beaches include Bai Kem and Bai Sao Beach in the southern part of the island, as well as Ham Rong Beach and Starfish Beach in the north.
